Design Phase

The Design phase manages all design-related tasks, drawings, and approvals for a project.

Overview

The Design tab provides:

  • Design task tracking
  • Design stage progression
  • Team member assignments
  • Design-specific custom fields

The Design phase is only available for full projects (not change orders).

Design Stage Tracking

Projects move through design stages defined by your administrator. Common stages include:

  • Design Pending
  • Schematic Design
  • Design Development
  • Construction Documents
  • Design Complete

Advancing Design Stages

  1. Click the current design stage
  2. Select the new stage
  3. Update any related dates or notes

Design Tasks

Track design-related tasks such as:

  • Initial design meeting
  • Site measurements
  • Schematic drawings
  • Client revisions
  • Final design approval

Managing Tasks

  1. Add tasks from the Design tab
  2. Assign to team members
  3. Set due dates
  4. Track completion status

Design Team

Assign team members responsible for design:

  • Designer - Primary design contact
  • Draftsperson - Technical drawings
  • Design Assistant - Support tasks
  • Design Coordinator - Project coordination

Design Fields

Custom fields specific to design may include:

  • Design agreement date
  • Design fee
  • Number of revisions
  • Approval date
