In-Person Signing

When customers sign contracts in person (at your office or during a site visit), Readybuild employees can capture their signature directly in the system. This ensures the contract is properly recorded even when remote signing isn't practical.

Option 1: Hand the Device to the Customer

The simplest approach—let the customer sign on your device:

  1. Open the contract in Readybuild while logged in as an employee
  2. Navigate to the signature section
  3. Hand your tablet, laptop, or phone to the customer
  4. Customer draws their signature directly on the screen
  5. Click Save to record the signature

This captures an authentic signature drawn by the customer themselves.

Option 2: Record an In-Person Signature

When a customer has already signed a paper copy or verbally approved the contract, you can record their signature in the system:

  1. Open the contract in Readybuild while logged in as an employee
  2. Navigate to the signature section
  3. Select the signee's signature block
  4. Draw or write the customer's name as their signature
  5. Click Save to record the signature
Important

Only use this option when you have the customer's explicit authorization to sign on their behalf. This is typically used when:

  • The customer signed a physical copy and you need to record it digitally
  • The customer is present and verbally authorizes you to sign for them
  • Company policy permits recording verbal approvals

When to Use In-Person Signing

Good use cases:

  • Customer is at your office and prefers to sign immediately
  • Sales appointment where the customer wants to commit on the spot
  • Customer has difficulty with technology or email access
  • Closing a deal during a home visit

The contract will show:

  • The signature (drawn by customer or recorded by employee)
  • Timestamp of when it was recorded
  • The contract status updates to reflect the signature
