Selections Review

Customers make product choices through the Selections section of their portal.

What Are Selections?

Selections are choices customers make about:

  • Finishes and materials
  • Fixtures and hardware
  • Colors and styles
  • Upgrades and options

Selection Overview

The selections page shows:

  • Progress Bar - Completion percentage
  • Selection Groups - Organized categories
  • Individual Items - Choices to make
  • Status Filters - Filter by completion status

Selection Status

Each selection has a status:

SelectedCustomer made a choice
ApprovedSelection confirmed
SkippedCustomer skipped this item

Making Selections

Viewing Options

  1. Customer opens a selection group
  2. Reviews available options
  3. Sees pricing differences (if shown)
  4. Views product images and details

Choosing an Option

  1. Click on preferred option
  2. Review selection details
  3. Click Select or Confirm
  4. Selection is saved

Changing a Selection

Before final approval:

  1. Return to the selection
  2. Choose a different option
  3. Previous choice is replaced

Skipping a Selection

If the item doesn't apply:

  1. Open the selection
  2. Click Skip or Not Applicable
  3. Item marked as skipped

Selection Groups

Selections are organized by category:

  • Kitchen - Cabinets, countertops, hardware
  • Bathroom - Fixtures, tile, vanities
  • Flooring - Carpet, hardwood, tile
  • Exterior - Siding, roofing, doors
  • Other - Custom categories you define

Selection Details

Each selection may include:

  • Description - What the choice is for
  • Options - Available choices
  • Images - Product photos
  • Pricing - Standard vs. upgrade cost
  • Due Date - When decision is needed
  • Notes - Additional information

Adding Images (Customer)

Customers can upload images for selections:

  1. Open the selection
  2. Click Add Image or Upload Photo
  3. Select image file
  4. Image attaches to selection

Use for:

  • Inspiration photos
  • Reference images
  • Current product photos

Selection Progress

Progress Tracking

The portal shows:

  • Total selections required
  • Selections completed
  • Percentage complete
  • Items remaining

Progress Widget

Dashboard displays:

  • Visual progress bar
  • Quick link to selections
  • Items needing attention

Filtering Selections

Find specific selections:

  • All - View everything
  • Pending - Not yet chosen
  • Selected - Choices made
  • Approved - Confirmed selections
  • By Group - Filter by category

Notifications

Customer Notifications

Customers may receive alerts when:

  • New selections are available
  • Selection deadline approaching
  • Selections need attention

Staff Notifications

Your team is notified when:

  • Customer makes a selection
  • Selection is approved
  • Customer adds notes or images

Creating Selections

  1. Set up selections in the estimate
  2. Define options for each item
  3. Add images and pricing
  4. Set due dates if needed

Sharing Selections

  1. Go to project selections
  2. Click Share to Portal
  3. Customer receives notification
  4. Selections appear in their portal

Common Questions

Why can't my customer see selections?

Check that:

  • Selections feature is enabled
  • Selections were shared to portal
  • Customer is logged into correct project

Can customers change approved selections?

Typically no - approved selections are locked. Contact your team to make changes.

How do price differences show?

Upgrade costs appear as additional amounts above the standard allowance.
