Reading the Chart
- Each month in the date range is one line. The line is a running total of the sold amount on projects closed from the 1st through that day. It starts again at zero on the 1st of the next month.
- The x-axis is the day of the month, 1 through 31.
- The dashed Average line is the average of the months at each day. A month that has ended counts at its month-end total on days it doesn't have, so February's total counts for days 29-31.
- A line stops where the month wasn't measured: after its last day, before the start of the date range, and after the end of the range or today.
- Each month has its own colour. Past six months the colours repeat with a dotted or dash-dot line, so January and July stay distinguishable. The latest month is drawn thicker.
Point at the chart to see each month's total for that day. When the month has a sales goal, it reads like $174,792 of $2,049,865 (9%).
Click a month or Average in the legend to hide its line; the chart rescales to the lines still shown and the tooltip leaves it out. Click it again to bring it back.
What's Included
A project counts when it is in a Won stage, is not marked as a non-sale, and has an actual close date in the date range. Deleted projects are left out. The amount is the project's sold amount.
Sales Goal
A month's goal comes from your annual sales budget: for each salesperson, average job size times jobs won for that month, added together. The goal is company-wide and does not change with the Division filters. A month with no budget shows —.
Monthly Totals
Under the chart, a table lists each month's sold amount, goal, and % of Goal, with a TOTAL row for the whole date range.
Available Filters
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Closed From / to | The projects' actual close dates. Defaults to January 1 through today. |
| Division / Function / Work Type | Limit the divisions shown. Function defaults to Operational and Work Type to Full Project. |
The filters are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a filtered view.
The Division, Function, and Work Type filters appear only for companies that classify their divisions (using more than one function or work type). See Divisions for how these classifications are configured.
The three filters are combined: a project is included only when it matches every filter at once. For example, selecting the Handyman (Internal) and Design Build (Operational) divisions together with the Internal function shows Handyman only — it is the sole division that satisfies both.
Leaving a filter blank places no restriction on that dimension, so it reads as "All". Selecting Internal for Function with Division and Work Type blank gives the entire Internal compartment.
