Unbuilt Revenue by Project Report

The Unbuilt Revenue by Project report lists every sold job in production that still has work left to build, one row per job, with its unbuilt revenue. Use it to see where all of your unbuilt revenue sits, including jobs that are past due or have no predicted finish date.

Accessing the Report

Reports > Production > Unbuilt Revenue > By Project

What's Included

A job appears when it:

  • Has been sold (its sales stage is a Won stage)
  • Is in a production stage with an Open status (see Production Stages)
  • Is not yet 100% complete
  • Is in a full-project division (by default; see Available Filters)

Unlike Unbuilt Revenue by Week, jobs are listed whatever their predicted finish date, including jobs that don't have one.

A job's unbuilt revenue is the part of its total sold amount not yet marked complete. For example, a $100,000 job that is 40% complete has $60,000 unbuilt.

Project ManagerAssigned project manager. The heading uses your company's label for this field.
DivisionThe job's division. The heading uses your company's label for this field.
Total Sold AmountThe job's total sold amount

Unbuilt RevenueWork still to build on the job
Predicted FinishThe job's predicted finish date, blank if none is set. Shown in red when the job is past due.

The TOTAL row adds up the total sold amount and the unbuilt revenue of every job listed.

Past-Due Jobs

A job is past due when its predicted finish date is today or earlier. Its date is shown in red; hover over it to see "Past due".

This is the same rule as the Past Unbuilt Total on Unbuilt Revenue by Week, so the two reports agree: this report's TOTAL equals that report's TOTAL plus its Past Unbuilt Total, plus the jobs here with no predicted finish date.

Available Filters

FilterDescription
Project ManagerOnly jobs assigned to this project manager
Division / Function / Work TypeLimit the divisions shown. Function defaults to Operational and Work Type to Full Project.

The filters are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a filtered view.

Division, Function & Work Type filters

The Division, Function, and Work Type filters appear only for companies that classify their divisions (using more than one function or work type). See Divisions for how these classifications are configured.

The three filters are combined: a project is included only when it matches every filter at once. For example, selecting the Handyman (Internal) and Design Build (Operational) divisions together with the Internal function shows Handyman only — it is the sole division that satisfies both.

Leaving a filter blank places no restriction on that dimension, so it reads as "All". Selecting Internal for Function with Division and Work Type blank gives the entire Internal compartment.

Sorting

The report opens sorted by predicted finish date, most overdue first, with jobs that have no finish date last. Click any column heading to sort by it; click again to reverse the order.

Common Use Cases

  1. Schedule clean-up: Sort by Predicted Finish to bring past-due jobs (in red) to the top and jobs missing a predicted finish date to the bottom
  2. Backlog review: See which jobs hold the most unbuilt revenue
  3. Project manager workload: Filter by project manager to see the work each one still has to build
