Unbuilt Revenue by Week Report

The Unbuilt Revenue by Week report shows the sold work your jobs in production still have left to build, spread week by week over the next 12 months. Use it to see how much revenue is coming through production and when. To see the same unbuilt revenue as one row per job, use Unbuilt Revenue by Project.

Accessing the Report

Reports > Production > Unbuilt Revenue > By Week

What's Included

A job appears when it:

  • Has been sold (its sales stage is a Won stage)
  • Is in a production stage with an Open status (see Production Stages)
  • Is not yet 100% complete
  • Has a predicted finish date
  • Is in a full-project division (by default; see Available Filters)

Jobs with no predicted finish date don't appear anywhere on the report.

How Unbuilt Revenue Is Calculated

A job's unbuilt revenue is the part of its total sold amount not yet marked complete. For example, a $100,000 job that is 40% complete has $60,000 unbuilt.

That amount is spread evenly across the weeks the job has left:

  • The weeks start at the job's start date, or today if the job has already started or has no start date
  • The weeks end at the job's predicted finish date
  • A job whose start date is on or after its predicted finish date puts its whole unbuilt amount in the week it starts

Amounts are split to the cent, so a job's weekly amounts add up to exactly its unbuilt revenue.

Jobs whose predicted finish date is today or earlier are not spread across weeks. They are counted in the Past Unbuilt Total instead.

Past Unbuilt Total

The box above the table shows the unbuilt revenue on jobs whose predicted finish date is today or earlier, with the number of jobs. These jobs are not in the weekly schedule.

Report Columns

The table lists one row per week, starting with the current week and running 12 months ahead. Each week is shown by its Monday date.

ColumnDescription
Week OfThe Monday the week starts
Unbuilt RevenueUnbuilt revenue scheduled for that week
PercentageThat week's share of the TOTAL

Other rows in the table:

  • Month totals - A total row after each month's weeks, shown even when the month is $0
  • Beyond 12 months - Unbuilt revenue scheduled after the last week shown
  • TOTAL - All future unbuilt revenue: every week plus Beyond 12 months. It does not include the Past Unbuilt Total.

The table is a schedule, so it always stays in date order.

Seeing the Jobs Behind a Week

Click a week, or the Beyond 12 months row, to open the jobs that make up that amount:

ColumnDescription
Project IDClick it to open the project
ProjectClient name and project title
This WeekThe job's unbuilt revenue in this week (Beyond 12 Months when you opened that row)
Total UnbuiltThe job's full unbuilt revenue
Total Sold AmountThe job's total sold amount
Weeks LeftHow many weeks the job's unbuilt revenue is spread over
Predicted FinishThe job's predicted finish date

The list opens sorted by predicted finish date. Click a column heading to sort by it. The TOTAL row matches the amount you clicked.

Both job lists show up to 500 jobs. If there are more, a note tells you how many are shown, and the totals still include every job.

Available Filters

FilterDescription
Project ManagerOnly jobs assigned to this project manager
Division / Function / Work TypeLimit the divisions shown. Function defaults to Operational and Work Type to Full Project.

The filters are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a filtered view.

Division, Function & Work Type filters

The Division, Function, and Work Type filters appear only for companies that classify their divisions (using more than one function or work type). See Divisions for how these classifications are configured.

The three filters are combined: a project is included only when it matches every filter at once. For example, selecting the Handyman (Internal) and Design Build (Operational) divisions together with the Internal function shows Handyman only — it is the sole division that satisfies both.

Leaving a filter blank places no restriction on that dimension, so it reads as "All". Selecting Internal for Function with Division and Work Type blank gives the entire Internal compartment.

Exporting

Click Export CSV to download the weekly schedule. The export includes every week, the month totals, Beyond 12 months, the TOTAL, and the Past Unbuilt Total. The job lists behind each week are not included.

Changes from the Previous Version

The report now covers work the older version left out:

  • Jobs with no remaining weeks (start date on or after the predicted finish date) used to be left off the report. They now appear in full in their start week.

  • Revenue more than 12 months out used to be dropped from the total. It now shows in the Beyond 12 months row and is included in the TOTAL.

  • Lost and unsold jobs that still had a production stage used to be counted. Only sold jobs are counted now.

Because of these changes, your totals may differ from the old report.

Common Use Cases

  1. Workload planning: See which weeks and months are heavy or light on production work
  2. Revenue forecasting: Estimate the revenue your crews will build in coming months
  3. Schedule clean-up: Open the Past Unbuilt Total to find jobs whose predicted finish date has passed and needs updating
