Built Revenue Month over Month

The Built Revenue Month over Month chart puts each month's built revenue side by side, day by day. Use it to see whether this month is ahead of or behind earlier months at the same point.

Reading the Chart

  • Each month in the date range is one line. The line is a running total: the value on day 10 is everything built from the 1st through the 10th. It starts again at zero on the 1st of the next month.
  • The x-axis is the day of the month, 1 through 31.
  • The dashed Average line is the average of the months at each day. A month that has ended counts at its month-end total on days it doesn't have, so February's total counts for days 29-31.
  • A line stops where the month wasn't measured: after its last day, before the start of the date range, and after the end of the range or today.
  • Each month has its own colour. Past six months the colours repeat with a dotted or dash-dot line, so January and July stay distinguishable. The latest month is drawn thicker.

Point at the chart to see each month's total for that day.

Click a month or Average in the legend to hide its line; the chart rescales to the lines still shown and the tooltip leaves it out. Click it again to bring it back.

How Built Revenue Is Calculated

Built revenue is calculated exactly as on the Built Revenue report: each change to a project's % complete builds the step in % complete times the project's total sold amount. A step back counts as negative. A month's total on this chart equals the Built Revenue report run for that month.

Days follow your timezone, so a change made late in the evening counts on the day you made it. Deleted projects are left out.

Monthly Totals

Under the chart, a table lists each month's built revenue, with a TOTAL row for the whole date range.

Available Filters

FilterDescription
Built Date From / toThe dates the % complete changes were made. Defaults to January 1 through today.
Project ManagerOnly projects assigned to this project manager. The label uses your company's name for this field.
Division / Function / Work TypeLimit the divisions shown. Function defaults to Operational and Work Type to Full Project.

The filters are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a filtered view.

Division, Function & Work Type filters

The Division, Function, and Work Type filters appear only for companies that classify their divisions (using more than one function or work type). See Divisions for how these classifications are configured.

The three filters are combined: a project is included only when it matches every filter at once. For example, selecting the Handyman (Internal) and Design Build (Operational) divisions together with the Internal function shows Handyman only — it is the sole division that satisfies both.

Leaving a filter blank places no restriction on that dimension, so it reads as "All". Selecting Internal for Function with Division and Work Type blank gives the entire Internal compartment.
