Employee Locations Report
The Employee Locations report plots the GPS locations recorded by the mobile app on a map. It can show everyone's last known position, or one employee's location trail over a period of time.
Accessing the Report
Reports > General > Employee Locations:
- All Last Known Locations: the most recent position of each employee
- Search by Employee: one employee's location history
Who You Can See
Locations follow the same rule as timesheets:
- With the View All Timesheets permission, you can see every active employee in your company.
- Without it, you can see yourself and the people who report directly to you.
Disabled users are not listed.
All Last Known Locations
Shows one red marker per employee, at the last location their device recorded. There is no date selection. Each person's most recent point is shown, however old it is.
Search by Employee
Shows one employee's recorded locations between two dates and times, joined in the order they were recorded:
- The blue marker is the first point in the range.
- Green markers are the points after it.
- A red line connects the points in order. It is a straight line between recorded points, not a road route, so it shows where the device reported from, not the road it took.
Filters
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Employee | Whose locations to show. Defaults to you when you are one of the listed employees; otherwise pick someone. |
| From | Start date and time. Defaults to 12:00 AM today. |
| To | End date and time. Defaults to now. |
The range can cover up to 31 days. Filter selections are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark or share a view.
Marker Details
Click a marker to see:
- The date and time the location was recorded
- The employee's name (All Last Known Locations only)
- Battery: the device's battery level at that time
- Accuracy: how precise the GPS reading was, in meters. Smaller is more precise.
The map zooms to fit all the markers. If there is nothing to show, a "No locations found" message appears.
Exporting
Click Export CSV to download the points shown on the map: employee, time, latitude, longitude, speed, battery % and accuracy.
Common Use Cases
- Field team overview: Use All Last Known Locations to see where your team was last reported
- Route verification: Review one employee's trail for a day
- Time verification: Compare location history with time entries
Tips
- Location accuracy depends on the device's GPS. Indoor readings are less precise.
- Points are only recorded while the mobile app is reporting location.
- A long date range can produce many markers. Narrow the range to focus on a specific day.
