Report Overview
This report shows sales performance for team members in design departments who are assigned as planning team leaders on projects. It compares actual sales against goals and provides win/loss metrics.
A project counts toward its designer when all of the following are true:
- It has a planning stage set.
- Its stage is Won or Lost.
- Either its actual close date falls in the selected range, or — when it has no actual close date yet — its predicted close date does.
- Its client contact hasn't been deleted, and the project isn't a non-sale.
A designer who belongs to more than one design department is counted once. A designer with a sales goal for the period but no qualifying projects still gets a row, so a missed goal stays visible.

Available Filters
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Actual Close Date From / To | The period the report covers. Defaults to the current calendar month. |
| Presets | Preset ranges that fill in the dates for you |
| Division | Limit to specific divisions (opportunity types). Also narrows the sales goals to those divisions. |
| Function | Operational or Internal |
| Work Type | Full Project, Service, Warranty, Evaluation or Non-Billable |
The Division, Function, and Work Type filters appear only for companies that classify their divisions (using more than one function or work type). See Divisions for how these classifications are configured.
The three filters are combined: a project is included only when it matches every filter at once. For example, selecting the Handyman (Internal) and Design Build (Operational) divisions together with the Internal function shows Handyman only — it is the sole division that satisfies both.
Leaving a filter blank places no restriction on that dimension, so it reads as "All". Selecting Internal for Function with Division and Work Type blank gives the entire Internal compartment.
Filter selections are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a filtered view or send the link to a colleague.
Understanding the Metrics
Sales Goal
The sales goal is calculated from the yearly budget configuration:
- Based on Average Job Size × Jobs Won targets
- Set in Settings > Sales & Marketing > Year Budget
- Specific to planning team leader position
Predicted Budget vs Sold Amount
- Predicted Budget: Sum of estimated values before closing
- Sold Amount: Actual contract values when won
- Compare these to evaluate estimation accuracy
Closing Percentage
Calculated as: (Won Projects / Total Projects) × 100
This shows the designer's effectiveness at converting opportunities to sales.
Drill-Down Details
Click any row to open that designer's projects. The list uses exactly the same rules and filters as the row you clicked, so its totals match the row.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| PID | Project number. Click it to open the project. |
| Client | Client name |
| Title | Project title |
| Status | Won or Lost |
| Close Date | The actual close date, or the predicted close date marked (predicted) when the project hasn't closed yet |
| Predicted Budget | Budget expected when the project was scoped |
| Sold Amount | What the project sold for |
| Margin Dollars | Sold amount × the project's margin |
Projects are listed most recently closed first. A very wide date range shows the first 500 projects, with a note saying how many there are in total.
