Contract Templates

Required Permission
Manage Company Settings - You must have the Manage Company Settings permission to access this setting.

Contract templates define the structure, content, and terms used when generating contracts for projects. Templates ensure consistency across your contracts while allowing customization for different project types and contract scenarios.

How Templates Work

When you create a contract on a project:

  1. Select a template - Choose from your available templates
  2. Content populates - Template sections, terms, and pricing auto-fill
  3. Customize as needed - Make project-specific adjustments
  4. Add estimates - Link estimate pricing to the contract
  5. Send for signature - Template formatting carries through to the final document

Template Components

Each contract template contains:

ComponentPurpose
HeaderCompany logo and the client-facing contract title
SectionsThe body of the contract — scope, allowances, payment schedule, terms, signatures — each one able to be shown, hidden, reordered, or replaced
FieldsThe fields shown in the panel beside the contract
SettingsWhere the signed PDF is filed, the default signature request message, and project duration behavior

Template Types by Contract Type

Templates can be configured for different contract types:
